Google Argentina and the Independence Day

GoogleToday, July 9th, Argentina celebrates it’s independence day. The curious thing is that, for first time, Google Argentina changes their local logo for this important day. I’m very proud of this recognition.

In other hand, while I’m writing this short article and working with my computer, I’m sitting at the window watching a curious thing that didn’t happen for at least 30 years: It’s snowing in Buenos Aires! (and it’s really very cold).

Writing code in many languages

codeIDECodeIDE is an online programming interface for JavaScript, PERL, pascal, C, HTML, Javascript, mySQL and many more. You can write code in one language (the one you most know) and get the same code in another one. Is a simple way to write and publish code in multiple programming languages from one place. Written in Ajax, codeIDE is great if you are doing your fisrt steps in one of these languages.

This online tool also has a kind of command window where you can see the results of executing the code. I think it a very nice tool for the novice in programming.

    One of the greatest browsers

Avant BrowserNo doubt, Avant is the browser I mostly like. Even if uses the MS Internet Explorer engine, Avant Browser has many features that historically other browser didn’t have (in the last version some of these features were added to them). I’ve been using this browser for many years, since its first version, and I feel frustrated when I have to browse in a PC without this fantastic tool.

Avant Browser was one of the first in implement the tabs navigation, maintaining only one program window in the task bar, but with many tabs in it (one foe each opened webpage).  Another great feature is the Alias one: You can set shortcut keys for those WebPages that you frequently visit. For instance, I type gg and automatically opens Google… and have more than 50 other alias. It’s fantastic.

You can discover many other features that Avant Browser have (and other brosers will include in their future version), just visiting http://www.avantbrowser.com/

One of my favorites online tools

What the Font?!Yes, this is one of my favorite’s tools, and that’s why I start my blog writing about it. How many times does a customer bring you a logo, a sign, or a banner saying: “this is the font I like”; or worst: “this is my company’s font, but we don’t have any font type file for it”.

Thanks God, What the Font?! exists. This very useful tool, created by MyFonts, let us upload a file, or simple indicate their URL, and through a comparison algorithm, the program finds very accurately the font name that correspond with that picture.  It has some years online, but, I can honestly say that is one of the best online tools for any designer I’ve ever use.
